ZM Adhesive ® - ZM ගම්
ZM Adhesive ® contains a synthetic resin that hardens irreversibly on heating and is very well suited as a Friction, Asbestos, Metallic and Ceramic lining adhesive. ZM Adhesive ® The product has exceptionally high strength to withstand very high shear loads prevalent between any type linings. ZM Adhesive ® shows good heat resistance and can be easily.
processed due to its suitable viscosity. ZM Adhesive ® are so good in Quality and Strength which is Originally Manufactured in Europe.

Preparation of the bonding surfaces
Preparation of the bonding surfaces the surfaces to be bonded must be thoroughly cleaned in order to remove all particles of dirt, rust, fat and oil. Furthermore, it is recommended that the brake shoes should be slightly roughened by sand blasting to guarantee good bonding.
Application of the adhesive
The adhesive is applied in thin layers onto both parts to be bonded by means of a brush or a coating machine.
Bonding technique
Before being finally bonded, the coated parts must be dried from temperature. Longer drying periods are advisable in order to allow residual solvents in the adhesive to evaporate.
Bonding pressure
A bonding pressure of 40 N/ cm² is required during curing under heat. Higher bonding pressure improves the bonding stability. It is recommended that the pressure should be retained during the cooling period until a temperature of 60 – 70 degrees C is reached. Only then should the bonding pressure be released.
Curing under heat
The setting time depends on the temperature of the joint during the bonding process. The following times and temperatures can be used as a guide:
at 160 °C 20 – 25 minutes
at 180 °C 10 – 15 minutes
Please note that the times required for heating up cold materials are not included in these curing times.
Special instructions
The adhesive concerned is highly flammable. During the processing of this adhesive smoking is not allowed and there should be no exposure to fire or naked lights. Workshops must be well ventilated while applying and drying the adhesive.
